BT wireless broadband is on a standard 24 month contract. The wireless USB modem will connect to one of several services depending on availablity. For example if you are in a built up area the modem will connect to a 'BT Openzone hotspot' this is a connection which is on a high speed ADSL connection and you share this connection with several other people. If a BT Openzone network isn't available you will connect via HSDPA up to 7.2mbps, this is generally more available in built up areas but still available nationwide. If this service is unavailable you will connect at 3g which transfers at 1.8mbps, this is usually available pretty much everywhere in the country except for locations far out of major towns or large open areas. finally as a last resort you will connect via GPRS this is at a speed of about 64kbps and is covered by 97% of the country. Although the speed is not fast you will still be able to pick up email and check lite websites.
